Mine's 10", what is the measurement from the dash to the back of the seat (not behind the seat, but where your back hits). Mine is 29".

Drug out the parts for the power steering last night. Started just wrapping my head around the design and taking some rough measurements. Slept on it and this morning before work I cut down the column sleeve. Then made a floor cover/patch for the column mount. I think I will notch the cross-member a tad to move the steering gear forward just a 1/2 inch or so.

Got Primer and two coats of paint on it before I left for work.

In my experience you need to go as far to the left as possible with the hole thru the floor. Are you keeping the floor brake pedal or going to swinging? If you are running those headers it's probably fine, but if you go with manifolds you'll want the extra clearance by moving the bottom of the column to the left as much as possible. The steering shaft is a tight fit no matter what and 1/4" can make a big difference in some cases.

Power steering seems to be coming together nicely. Only a couple hours into it so far.

Here’s the floor mount in place.

The steering gear mount is from Herm.

I’m going to cut this column shaft off just outside the firewall to get s better angle to the gearbox.

On hold here for a couple days as my friend is going to machine the column shaft to proper diameter over the weekend.

Small update. Ended up with my drag link crossing the tie rod.

This isn’t going to work so slight delay to get a two hole TRE.

Then on Saturdays long bike ride I hit a dog. I was going down hill at over 20mph on a gravel road. Dog ran out of woods and tangled up with me. This was at about mile 50 of a 100 mile ride. I finished the ride.

Road rash on my hip and slightly separated shoulder.

Finally a little time for the CJ tonight. Y’all should know I’m a (TLAR) that looks about right guy. So this was done with very little measuring. Just TLAR engineering.

Used some tape to mark the area.

Tape didn’t stick well so hit it with quick drying primer.

Take a deep breath and cut.

First filler piece came out good.

I may make this second piece again. Not a perfect fit.

The way I did this all welding is done inside the fender (except the hole I blasted thru) so it looks pretty clean with minimal grinding.
