Had mine saughtered (soldered) to the box when the box was out. Perhaps consider putting heavier wt. oil and/or grease in there, or both in the meantime. Currently I have a mix of 90-wt and 140-wt in the V6 box for the purpose of troubleshooting and "seeing what it'd solve", if anything.

It's possible--but not likely--that it could be coming thru the top of the horn tube during use & oozing down the horn wire. Approx how many drops on the floor each day are you noticing?

Yea, the tube is just soldered into the box. Should just be at the bottom where it comes out of the box. the tube goes up inside the worm gear and then the collumn. Don't think it can flow inside the collumn unless your filling the ross box from the horn button.;)

The tube is flared into a round plate that is pressed into the recess in the bottom of the box. that makes 2 places it can be leaking from. if it is coming from around the tube, you can solder/braze it if you can get it clean enough or you can attempt to tighten up the flare that is holding it it. if it is leaking around the plate, you can seal it with some permatex. either way the box has to be pulled apart and the tube/plate taken out and everything cleaned real well for the repair to work. $.02

Drained about 3/4 pint over night. It seems a po had used window putty to make a patch to cover the horn wire hole. As soon as I removed the patch, the oil came gushing out. wondering if i could make a silcone plug? For the record, I am using Lucas power steering stop leak instead of gear oil/grease (easier to turn the wheels).

Not sure what that is, but it sounds a little thin to be in a ross box, your buttons are not gonna last long...

found the problem, the tube that keeps the oil from leaking had broken off. made a new one from a 1.25" freeze plug and 8" of 1/4" tubing. the lucas is some thick stuff, MUCH thicker than gear oil.
