I need to sandblast my dash and I have seen some mention a reproduction VIN sitcker that is available. Is that really worth it? Can someone point me in the right direction. The trouble is that there is rust all around the sticker, otherwise I would just tape it off.

    Thanks for the help.

Are you talking about the one that looks like this?

If so go to this page and look to the bottom.

There are 3 specific designs toward the bottom of the page just find the one you need and provide the serial #, there $18 a piece. Worth it in my opinion.

Ok quick question It asks for the date of manufacture when you order the sticker. Is there a place or resource I can get that info from the VIN ?

    Thanks

Should be on your original decal if you still have it, otherwise the only way is to narrow it thru other serial numbers and manufacture dates of board members with known manufacture dates.

There is a list of serial numbers and build dates broken down by the month and year on the cj-3B page. You can find the CJ-5 production figures there. This is how I found out my 67 was built in Oct of 66.

I have the same sticker and it looks great. It really adds a nice detail to a restored Jeep.

edit: whoops! I just looked there and they only go up to 67 and your sig says you have a 74. anyways the link is:
