    Ok, help me out here.

I swapped out the rear axle of the Jeep, putting a flanged unit in for the 2-piece unit.

I bought new wheel cylinders and replaced them matching what came out to what went in. I didn't pay attention to L or R as I did it since they just had PN's on the box.

Now with the axle in the fitting points the wrong direction for the brake lines.

Which direction are they supposed to be facing, front or rear? Something isn't right, I don't know if it's me or the brakes that were in there on the old axle...

Shouldn't they be centered with hardlines running down the axle to a T-block in the center with a single rubber hose going up to the hardline in the middle of the rear cross member? Sounds like you got front wheel cylinders instead of rear.

    9", 10" or 11"s?

Put new wheel cyls in mine recently and they have a l and r with bleeder screw at top and B-line screws in on the back side on both sides. Matched up perfectly to orig bend in lines.

Thanks Walt, this is further confirmation, I have a '71 Jeepster on the way over to help that has the brake lines the same way.

Joel, not sure what you're getting at, they are rear brake wheel cylinders. The ones that came off were correct in the side they were on, the ones on the axle that I put in were not apparently correct. They're stock '71 self adjusting 10" brakes. Yes, there's a T on the diff, the problem is a the wheel ends not in the middle. :D

I'm sure it's too late now, but Walck's catalog lists right and left separately for yours.

I did buy left and right Glenn.

The problem was the axle I had in there had them correctly installed. The one I put in was backwards, guess which one I followed when I replaced them... ;)

I got it fixed, brakes are bled, waiting on some carb cleaner and a new U-bolt to replace the bad one now.

Ahhh, after rereading your post I totally understood what you said. :) I kinda thought you were trying to confirm there should be a left and right.

Trying to confirm which side was left and which side was right, in other words. Which axle was correct because they didn't match directions.
