Have a pretty bad rear main leak when it runs I go threw a quart every 100 miles. It doesn't leak when I stop because of the leak stop I put in but when it runs I always have oil all over the skid plate.

My question is can I change the rear main seal without pulling the engine. I read in the service manual that the old seal you had to have the crank out to replace, I know the new seal I can put in without pulling the crank out but the old seal is there a way of getting it out without pulling the crank as far as I know this block has never been rebuilt.
I would need this seal to last just through the winter I plan to rebuild it in the summer.

My bad yes an f-134, I guess in my mind that is the only engine in jeeps.

Thanks for the link any preference on what type of seal to use I heard if the rope isn't asbestos it is not worth it and just use neoprene.

If you can find a neoprene seal, they are better. Sourcing one for a F134 has gotten difficult, according to earlier posts. Apparently Felpro only offers the rope seal now.

You could try Walck's for the rubber seal. Search - this has been discussed before.

This seal or rear main seals in general?

I've done a few of them in other cars.

I meant the seal from kaisers just curious who makes it, and if it is any good.
