Pictures Of Lilly, My 59 CJ5

    was going to update my thread with some pics of a new tailgate to find that I never followed up on the speedometer...
    I wound up squeezing the disk that holds the needle and got a nice snug fit...put it back together and road tested...it read way slow...like 20 under.
    took it back out...opened it up and adjusted the spring tension by pulling the stake holding the end of the clock spring and carefully pulling it tighter...or did I loosen it???cant remember but I would think looser...then reinserting the stake.

    I had to adjust it many times...after a while I stopped putting things even close to back together...but in the end I got it dialed in. Having tested the speedometer on many digital speed limit signs Ive got it to +/- a mile an hour off at 30 MPH, and at higher speeds we are keeping up with average speeds and reading the same :D

    I finally decided to buy a tailgate...and boy am I glad I did!!! Made some chains and covers for it, I know the carabiners are not correct but...whatever, they work

    the lighting for the shot of the rear is weird...the color matches the powder coated brown pieces pretty well...:sneak:
