Any thoughts on how to mount the od shifter on the T14/Twin stick Dana 18?

It appears that the cast front on the Twin Stick case is right where the OD shiftr needs to go.

Got your PM, Looking at your 1st pic, The base of the bracket looks like its 1.5 " or so, cant you elogate the holes, and grind the trans side of the bracket down a little and slide the bracket over so it clears? maby I'm missing something. :?

    hmm
I'm thinking spacers/washers under the bracket to raise it up a little
if you do this, you might need longer bolts to use in the 2 tower holes

If it was only 1/4-1/2", then I would do it, but I need 3-3 1/2" of clearance for the shifter.

wonder if shorting the linkage and mounting the shifter to the rear of the tranny would work?

I have the EXACT same problem and that is the solution I came up with as well. I haven't done it yet but I don't think there is another way.

    oh
    okay understand now
I couldn't get a clear perspective from the pics
shortening might be the easiest way to go then

I ended up shorting the linkage and making a new bracket. looks like I'll have to rebend the OD and the front axle levers after I repair the floor.

I had the same problem with mine when I installed it. I added a curved portion to the shift link that dips under the twin stick housing, coming up to the od lever mounted to the front two bolts in the tranny cover. I don't have pics handy but if I get a chance this weekend I will pull the cover and take a few.
