Just received the original heater defrost vent duct from Tim.

A great big thank you to Tim for sending it to me, come this winter I will try to reproduce one out of cardboard like the original. looks to be a bit tricky not as easy as I thought. Reproducing the glove box was a piece of cake compared to The original vent.

Well now for the million-dollar question anyone out there have a photo or know how this vent was attached to the vehicle. if anyone has a photo of an original could they please pass it on.

Good luck, I used the plastic one, works great, but I just wanted my defrosters to work, I do understand your passion for original though. You should offer a deeper glove box with your cardboard glove boxes, deeper is better.

I used aluminum flashing and pop rivets to make the box. I was able to salvage the butterfly from the cardboard original that the mice and years of neglect ruined. Should last longer than the cardboard. I’ll have to crawl under the dash to see how I mounted it

Getting too old to lay on my back and try and take a picture from under the dash :)
But here is what the TSM shows at least for a 71. There were 2 tabs on the sides that were screwed to flat plate the wind shield set on.
