A good rule of thumb is at least 10 psi for every 1000 RPM.

Running around in Phoenix and surrounding areas you want to probably run 20w-50, you know. Mainly because it is somewhere to the North of 110ยบ F out there, and very little shade. That will bring it up a tad (the pressure). But you also don't want it to get too thin, either. Winter time you can go back to 10w-30 or 10w- 40. Or if you can still find it HD30. Saw some at Autozone this afternoon. And some HD40. $35.80 a case or there abouts.

My Willys F-head 134 runs 60 psi at start-up and 30 -40 psi running down the road at operating temp. Idle is 15-20 psi. Mechanical gauge.
