o/d for '74 cj5?

    hey guys. is there anyway to o/d a '74 cj5? it has a 232 & 3 spd. i have a warn o/d that i will prolly never use but i know it won't fit this jeep. thanks

    Normaly they are buit to go over a dana 18 t-case. Maybe you can swap a dana 18 over you're trans and buy and offset dana 44....if there's other way to do it i dont know them but it's something a want to get information!!

    Johneyboy03 is right - there is no easy overdrive available for these Jeeps.

    What axle ratio do you have? The factory ratios for 1974 were 3.73:1 and 4.27:1. A healthy 232 will be fine on the highway with either of those ratios. What is your complaint - too noisy?

    The chances of actually finding one are somewhere between slim to next to impossible but there's been a few Warn OD show up on Jeepsters so they are out there for D20's. Not real popular though, I've seen two in the past 14 or so years.
