I like it but if you're going to mention "some rust" take pictures of said rust. #newruleofcraigslist
Love the wheels. It is a good looking Jeep.
He might come down in price... It's been listed for awhile.
Couple different ways to look at this jeep. Drive it just as it sits. Return to original renegade trim. Restore to Renegade II specs. Restore to a nice modified cj5.Either way would be a great way to own this jeep. Need to work on price a little or just go for it.
Mine was that color at one time, way before I got it though.
Pretty sure that we saw this one a year or so ago with different wheels on it for about $4000.
After looking again I doubt that the jeep is a Renegade at all.Probably a "tribute" . As I understand it the '71 Renegade II was available only with "tailgate delete" along with other missing components on a renegade. $4,000 would be max for me with all that rust.
Definitely not a R2 with that tailgate...did they build any 71 R1's?
Or maybe a late 70 that got titled as a 71...
Dash sticker says Sept. 1970. What was the cutoff for Ren 1s? With the amount of rust showing, it is definitely an old paint job.
I have a Renegade 1 with a build date of 9/1970. It is a 1971 vechicle and was sold early January 1971. Purchased it last year from the estate of original owner. Although it has some mods from the 70's (and 80's?) it still has the 999 trim tag under the hood and other things that indicate it is an original Renegade. Mine is also orange although mine looks like the dirty sister to the one above.
What would indicate the year of vehicle as jeep vin numbers don't indicate model year. Sounds like what was commonly done before they changed the vin format and just titled your 1970 as a 1971. Dealers where prolific in doing this.
