62HP@3000 /143TQ@1350 According to most sources. It's pretty comfortable at that rpm but it doesn't have much more.

Keep in mind a mildly built, soft top, two door JK is in the 5k range and suddenly the CJ6 doesn't seem so heavy anymore....lol

Took the new lockers out for a test drive this past weekend. A friend of mine snapped this one.

Interesting how tires and their usuage has changed over the years,
Back in the '70's my father was in a recap class that was taught by Clair King, the guy that develloped the Bandag recap system.
Clair had a '47 2A with a V6. He was also part of the search and rescue group so a few times he chained up his tall skinneys and hit the trails to find someone. He said there was a few times he had to stop and clear the snow off of his hood so he could see where he was going.

How's yours coming along? Good to see ya posting again! If you couldn't tell.... I went a little sideways on this build with lockers and a cage....lol

I wasn't moving as fast as I had liked up that but I didn't have to winch and a few others did. Had to work it back and forth a lot but still managed to get up it unassisted. It was slippery and I was 2nd to last out of a dozen or so rigs that were on this trip.

It was cold enough the next morning that the ole girl just wouldn't fire. Even with my catalytic heater under the oil pan for about and hour. Ended up using one of those propane torches lit above the intake and sucking the flame down into the intake by cranking it over. Fired right up that way! LoL.

All dressed for Moab Easter Jeep Safari. I guess we'll see how vintage tires work on the red rock. ;)

Back in the day we all wished we had a set of "Desert Dogs" .............hopefully they still have some flexibility to them and will grab the rocks.........worked pretty good in the dirt!

How cool, I saw them in my book, but never seen one. Perkins is a great motor, I had a 1927 Phantom I Rolls Royce, someone had replaced the motor with a Perkins P 6in it. my Grandmother gave it to me after Grandpa died. I had it for 35 years, sold it and it went back to England, and is restored now. I wish I had kept the motor, he found a PI motor and replaced the Perkins. You won't be able to sneak up on any animals in the woods with that motor, they are very loud. Best of luck with your project.

Pewe' was talking more about mine to the crowd than he was about his. He'd defer to me for specific questions but gave the Perkins history like you'd expect from him. I've always liked Rick. He's a great guy.
