Well my V6 has a cable bolted to the bell-housing and anchored back to the cross-member which is bolted to the frame. No way the engine can move forward unless something breaks.

Your idea of making some solid mounts is a good idea. The MOREs are just that, a solid motor mount that purdy much uses your motor to make another cross member from frame to frame...no movement forward or back or anything. A cheap way to do it is to use chain. Im not exactally sure how he did it but he didn't have the money for another set of MOREs for his second cj7 so he chained it and that motor would not budge anywhere. I'll find out more about it and let you know if you interested in an alternative route.

Well hell the jeep is broke again, paul got his yota put back together with the new edelbrock intake and badass heads so we went mudn, the yota did good till he killed it and the starter wouldnt engage (long story short). Then my jeep was doing badass and all of the sudden the front axle slid back into the fender on driver side so i got out to find the frame on the rear of the leaf spring had folded under cuz of the weekness of the pos frame

I fixed the frame with a piece of 2x2 angle iron that was 1/4in and then welded the perch back to that and it worked fine for the frame patch. Well my alternator that i cut the cooling fan off from no longer charges cuz it is toast (dont do as i did, the fans serve a purpose). And being that it doesnt create the proper voltage the motor now runs like **** big time so yea the jeep is probably finished until i get enough time to relocate a new alternator to the other side of the motor where it wont eat radiator hoses.

Well the jeep got revived after 4 hours of being submurged in the tank over the front and rear fenders. I pulled it out with the ford 5000 and she fired right up and bellered out some black smoke and mudd from the exhaust. I washed it off so i could pull it into the shop so i could work on it for the guy coming to look at it tommaro. I was planning on fixing the broken frame, adjusting the brakes, and just washing it. I got the frame done and she is washed all purdy but i have one problem, BRAND NEW BRAKE PADS are toast, nothing left, i am ****ED! ****ED!!! wtf not even 2 months use!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The key to deep water like that, or as I have found out, is to grab 2nd and just pray that water dont get into the intake ha. I was lucky since my clutch fan is absolutly shot and soon as it touches anything, it just stops spinning. Good pic.

Well the jeep is pretty shot, the clutch no longer dis-enguages for some un known reason, the motor has absolutly no balls and yea idk the rear diff cover has holes in it from me shattering the welds on the rear axle, i am tired of it for now and am also in college for the next 8 months so its guna sit for a while. Oh i also managed to twist the rear dshaft off like a pretzul and then it broke.

Your back. Havn't seen you around here for awhile. Too bad for the jeep. Considering your history with chevy's, I would say when you start on her again...maybe some cut down dana 60's? haha well good luck with school.

I know alot of people build their own frames for these jeeps. Im sure it wouldn't be too hard if someone knows how to do it. That way its fully boxed and ready to be made into whatever you wanted.

I've got to tell ya, I've just spent the last 2 hours reading this thread and TOTALLY ENJOYED IT!!! I love the Heep! I wish I didn't worry so much about scratching my paint like the little flower that I am so I could wheel the hell out of my jeep and enjoy it more! Great photos and great resto, man! I especially loved the pic of the CJ-7 Rock Crawler with the AZ paint job. :) I have no doubt you'll get her back on the trail again some day!
