They are welding clamps I bought at Harbor Freight, under $10 for a package of 8.

Cut out the rest of the a-pillar up to the seam, Makes sense why they rust there, 2 pieces of unprotected steel sandwiched together and the seam is just butted together unsealed. Since I'm not doing a concourse correct restoration, I'll weld this seam shut when I put it back together.

Wasn't able to get the tub carried outside and didn't have enough sand for what I want to do, so I settled for messing with the trans covers to try out the new-to-me Harbor Freight sand blaster. Works pretty good once I made some adjustments. They look wet because I sprayed them down with WD40 to keep from rusting until I'm done with my modifications to them.

Stayed up yesterday since it was so nice and did some sand blasting. First patch panel done today, think I did almost as much grinding today as I did in 19 years at Kinze!

Even a blind hog finds an ear of corn. Went to the Iowa All Breeds Jeep show today looking for rims. Ended up with a new in the box Centech complete CJ wiring harness for $200!

Great score. I used a Centech fuse panel when I rewired my Jeep. They make good stuff.

Yeah, I just wish they would have paid the extra $20 for the deluxe kit with the better fuse block. I may end up switching it out when I install, even though it is $120 just for the fuse block. Looks like it will hold up better than the one that comes standard.

It's the portable 40 lb one, bought it slightly used from a guy that found out his little portable compressor would not keep up. Wish mine would have had patches riveted in, they warped the hell out of panels with the torch and braising rods!

Even on vacation I'm looking for parts. Made a stop on the way home happened to be beside a truck parts place. Told the wife I was going to step inside for a couple minutes to look around. Got to talking to them and bought a used Cummins 6BT exhaust manifold for my 4BT I've been looking for. 45 minutes later I was back to to the car, and she was grumpy.

Got home from vacation, started looking closer at the wiring loom. It is complete with all the connectors and ends, including the sockets for the dash lights and indicators! Since it is for a late CJ I will have some extra circuits that I can remove right at the fuse block.

Right. Or at least have a women's section.

When driving from PA to NH many times, whenever I'd pass by, I always thought it was clever that the Yankee Candle factory also had a car museum to keep the men entertained.

Got some done on the JEEP today, finished the passenger side rocker, and started on the firewall. Between the factory holes and the ones that the POs over the last 50 years had added.

I assume the spacing between the 4 and the 6 lines up? Does this leave you options to where you want to dump the exhaust? or just flows better?

The factory 4bt manifold has the turbo flange straight down between cylinders 3 and 4. By using the 6bt manifold with the 2 ends cut off the turbo will end up between cylinders 2 and 3 at around a 45 degree. With the stock manifold the exhaust down pipe is very close to the firewall usually requiring a very tight bend or notching the firewall. This makes for passengers with very warm feet. The 45 degree angle give me better clearance for oil filter and housing. There is a company that makes a billet manifold for the 4bt that puts the turbo between 2 and 3 but, it is also $700+. Since I'm not going for extreme power this $50 manifold and my time cutting and welding is a better option. Just glad I have 20 years experience welding!
