My transfer case breather was plugged solid so I took it apart and soaked it in lacquer thinner over night, good as new.

Pulled the factory wheels out of storage. I was surprised to see the factory didn't paint the backs of the wheels. Looks like it was placed on a stand of some sort, based on the overspray, then the fronts painted.

Also looks like the original color was a cream or off white ? I was always under the assumption they were white ?

    Those S lines.. I don't like those.

You could make those brackets if you needed to. I have a set that i'm not using, and could take measurements.

Great build by the way, love the detail.

I lost those very same brackets! Took me a whole day to find them!

How are you planning on cleaning up the wheels before paint? About to do this in a couple weeks.

I'm going to blast them, then use a high build primer, then paint.

Cleaned up some more parts today,

I was just going to buy new steering parts but the old pitman arm ball looks pretty good, still nice and round ? Don't know about the bellcrank yet. I can't get the end off the old drag link to inspect it.

Thanks Piffey263. I'm going to look one more time tomorrow but I'm out of places to look. I have a 55 chassis sitting here with a set on it but they look nothing like my originals. The 55's have some sort of shield on them that drops down over ball of the axle. Mine didn't have that unless they broke off.

Got the knuckle seals in place today. For some reason the knuckle has 10 threaded holes but the seal plate has 8 holes like the original. Not sure what the other 2 are for.

Seems like everytime I order something thats supposed to be for my year it doesn't match the original :-( Of course I bought this over a yr ago from who knows where. I am just going to use the new bearings from the kit and my original. It looks pretty good. Anyone wants the new one PM me. just the cost of shipping.

You know I had the same issue, with that repair kit. the bearings fit, the shaft didn't. I forgot to let walck know that the bell crank repair kit only half works for the v6 models.

Played around with the PTO today
    [IMG]

The diagram show both sprockets with their hubs facing the cover, however when I did that the sprocket coming off the transfer case side hit the bolts. I turned it around and it works fine. Doe's anyone just put grease in here to prevent any leaks ? or fill with oil ?

Next question, anyone know what the shaft nut (which I lost) is torqued at ?
