There are Meyer cabs for both pre- and post-76. 1976 is the watershed. Likely you can tell from the filler strips that seal the doors to the top. Sorry I don't have anything more specific for you.

If it's from a '76 or newer Jeep, it won't fit.

Going by the serial number Twin2 has a newer top. Going by that and assuming 131 is the model number the one matt is looking at must be correct for '75 and older.

That door filler piece is easy to make. I made a few of them out of rectangle aluminum bar stock from the hardware store. I bent it and even countersunk the holes for the screws.

I'd make sure he has for sure the upper hinge halves that bolt to the windshield frame. Those are really the hardest ones to reproduce correctly. But I have seen them replicated out of angle and black iron pipe like from the hardware store as well. One of the tops I bought as a kid had a set like that and they held the doors on for 30 years! LOL! I think I might have one of them somewhere. I'll have to look.

    Interesting discussion.
will have to check the 5er Meyer top I just brought home,
it was taken off a 1981, that the mechanic said had the windshield hold down loose,
to allow the windshield to tilt forward and bolt up to the top in front.
Was running soft doors, with no z strips, and they kept all except the steel top.

Got a picture of the factory sticker with a serial number hope that will help determine if it is pre or post 1975.
Don't know how to upload image. Sticker is a black background with lettering in silver

Sounds like it's a '75 and prior top based on the comment about the windshield hold down. That's certainly not definitive though.

To clarify what I meant the '76 and newer windshield leans farther back making the roof actually shorter on those tops for '76 and up.

Thx, had seen that model # info before, but couldn't locate it.
The top measures just like the other CJ5 top in the barn, front to back and side to side at the windshield.
