Gotta a dumb question. We have one of those Waste Mgmt "bagsters" full of construction trash in the driveway that the WM truck told us he could not "get to" in order to "haul away".

Thinking of chaining it to my CJ and dragging it to the front where it will be more accessable...
What is the estimated weight my '73 CJ could take on to drag this mess?????

If you drag it, it's not weight on the Jeep. Do you have the optional draw bar?

I think the jeep could totally handle it. You're just looking at overcoming the friction of the bag has on the ground, not the total weight.

My first thought, though, is to question if the act of dragging is going to damage the container? I'd be careful there - would hate for you to be on the hook for the replacement cost.

You got it, James. If it’s on smooth dirt or grass i’d say you’re better off, but if it’s “gravely”, i’ve had the experience of a dragged object getting slowly torn up by the sandpaper action.

I laughed defeatedly, slapped my forehead and cracked open a beer, after calling it a day...:D

Lots of old carpet around. Drag the bag onto some carpet, and drag the carpet.

You can pretty much drag anything that "is loose at both ends," if the tires have traction.
