I am adding dual master cylinder.I have mid 70's disk front axle.
I have master cylinder and bracket from early 70's vehicle. What I was wondering was,I know the later dual master cylinders have one small compartment and one large. The large is for the front disks. The cylinder that I have has both compartments the same size. Would this be o.k. to use, or do I need different cylinder with larger compartment for the disk?
    Thanks....

I run an aftermarket (frame mounted) Wilwood single on mine and works fine on 4 drums (front 11"). Duals are always better but I don't think reservoir size (hence capacity) is an issue (I may be wrong).

The key to discs is to use a smaller diameter line on discs for proper pressure. Here is a great site for brake line bending, flaring, installation tips and FAQ. http://www.inlinetube.com/

I'm picking my kit for my 68 MC tomorrow from NAPA. The front is a 1 inch bore and the back 7/8ths. My Jeep has drums on both ends and stock. I do believe the kit you have will work. I will post the part number and cost tomorrow if you want. I'll ask the guy at Napa I know. He's been in the business for 37 years. Knows his trucks.

When I converted to a 70's D30 with disks I used the dual resevior drum setup that was put on by the PO. Same size reseviors front and back. I just pulled the stock residual pressure valve out of the fitting on the MC and plumbed in a 2lb residual pressure valve for the disk side and I was good to go. Definitely need to know if the master cylinder you are using is made for drum/drum or disk/drum (doubt it's disk/disk on a 70's vehicle). The residual pressure valves need to be right or your disks will drag. Do a search for residual pressure valve and I'm sure you'll find lots of useful stuff.
