Got a new progect today. Got it from ebay for 200$ i dont need it but i couldnt pass it up. Ill probrobly just fix it up and maby drive it a bit and eventually sell it. Im having trouble identifying the year the serial # is 8305 S 235787 i think its either a 56 or 67 by the # database. Also it appears to have a 3 speed is it a t-90? Im not going for originality here just roadworthyness. its gonna take a bit of work its worse than my 2a was but i think i can fix it :) Im going to keep the drivetrain and suspention stock probrobly just put some sway bars on it. I didnt get a picture of the floor but im sure yall know what a jeep floor looks like

Sweet find for $200! Buick V-6 is always good! If stock it should be a T-90 but if that vintage then the V-6 has been transplanted so it's possible the tranny has been too.

That is a major score! Good job.

If the tranny, motor, and "V6" emblem on the side of the Jeep are stock, I would say it is a 67 cj5. Based on the bend in the shifter, the tranny is likely a T86aa; most T90's have a strait shifter.

:iagree:Yep, and amber marker lights, looks like a 67 to me. Nice score, worth 300 in scrap.

Definitely worth $300 in parts and scrap. Might have some significant problems in the left rear corner though - is the spring broken or has the body settled due to rust? Looks like the latter to me.

    Sway bars :?

knob on the dash is the plow leaver and it also came with a plow! Im goin to have to find some better rear springs a bunch are broken but the main reason its crooked is below :) Im going to get the frame cleaned up,fluids changed , springs fixed brake lines and exhaust run and the e brake working before i make new pans. Im also going to probrobly look for the older style draw bar in the back. Im not sur eif the one it has is factory but i dont really like it.

The frame is solid even though it doesnt look like it in the pics. Im probrobly going to reinforce it a little bit anyway so its a little less flexy

I started it today and it runs good. With a bit of a tune up it should run perfect. :) Can i put a twin stick shifter on the transfercase without messing with the internals?

Im replacing the rear springs which had a few broken leafs with commando front springs. Their the same length but offset 3 inches so i redrilled the main leaf to center it up. Probrobly not the safest thing to do but their in real goos shape not rusty at all so i dont think they will break at the old hole. Either way theyre alot safer than the old ones. Also i discovered i have a bad tranny as you may have seen my other thread on the t86. Im going to replace it with a t-14 Hopefully if its still at the junk yard tomorrow. I found a partially restored commando which iv been getting parts from at the yard. I got all the brake pads and wheel cylenders and brake hoses. Thats also where im getting the t-14. Im having some steel made up for the floor and rear bumper and rocker pannels. I cant beleive how much i got done its only been a week. And i have full time job too :)

When I converted to twin stick I took the front end off of an older tcase and put it on the front of mine. So I did have to "mess with the internals". It was well worth it. Probably a good idea for you to check out the inside of that thing anyway as it's common for the intermediate shaft to wear out and cause problems.

And, hey - it looks like there's something wrong with the floor in your Jeep . . . . Can anyone say Fred Flintstone? Just joking.

Yea thats what i figured. Im definatly keeping an eye out at the junk yard. Right now iv got everyhting out right up to the flywheel and i wont put it back together till i get a master cylender in and the brakes all plumbed in. I supose its never too late to switch it out if i dont find one for a while.
I got the t-14 by the way and its in great shape i just need the right transfer case input gear. I got my back bumper on and the whole back of the frame is undercoated. Just gotta weld on a couple more body mounts and some D-rings and drill some holes for wire clips. Pictures comeing :)
