I'm looking for an SAE toolset to leave in the Jeep. Ya know the the kind, 100+ pieces, in a plastic case. The problem is that everything I have found is also metric I don't need metric.
    Suggestions/links would be great.

Make it up yourself and use a tool roll instead of a plastic box. There is a guy on the CJ-2A forum that makes really nice tool rolls.

That is my plan B, that way I get exactly what I need, but thought I would try to find one in a case. Failing that, then its plan B.

I don't think they exist? I'd go to Harbor Freight and piece my own custom set together. Get doubles for nuts and bolts that req the same size. I got these cool wrenches, they came in handy reaching down where the bell housing meets the block.

I picked one of those up last month for under $100 Canadian & I see they've got a very similar set on this week-

Must be a major overstock on these somewhere.

Did you use your Canadian Tire money for even more savings ;)
It's a really nice set, I like that you have 1/2" drive also.

Metrics come in handy when stuck behind a broke down Toyota on the trail.

Although its reflection on my lack of skills...I have never had to drag my tacoma home with my cj but twice I have gone in with my taco to drag my cj home...point is good though. Never hurts to have both sae and metric.

I think the point has been made, what harm is there in having metric. It's like I always say about a jacket, it's better to have it and not need it than to not have it and need it. And who knows, some day I may be able to "Help A Brother Out".
And what I've seen so from this thread Stanley may be the way to go.

Own a Ford truck and you need both metric and SAE on the same vehicle. Makes me crazy.

3 points I want to make.
    1. Modern vehicle parts come from all over the world so I understand metric and SAE.
    2. You would think that GM, Ford, etc could spec out SAE for their suppliers.
    3. When is the US going to join the rest of the world and become metric.

I have a kennedy kits ancient tool box filled with sets of metric and SAE stuff. It lives in my pickup truck to fix it and my jeep and the Honda dirt bikes i throw in the back. I have cobbled the sets together out of old yardsale junk, so if it goes missing, I am not out a lot. Space in a jeep is limited and its impossible to make sure stuff doesnt get stolen out of it unless you lock it down. The blow molded case would be nice for that. I basically don't drive my jeep around with tools because I haven't constructed a lockable console.

Knucklebusters--They have their limitations, such as, too bulky to fit in tight places, but I sometimes grab one with my handful of "did-I-get-the-right" wrenches.

Metric sockets are good for pounding on rusted sae bolts
Sae sockets are good for pounding on rusted metric bolts:D
Its nice sometimes to know that a 3/8" socket is between a 10mm and 9mm.
