My Jeep finally got some long deserved attention today.

I started working on installing a flanged 44 (thanks Jayhawk!) to replace the 2-piece that was in the CJ-5 when I bought it.

Tonite I got the 2-piece axle removed and the flanged axle has brakes fully assembled on it now.

Pics when it's daylight. Right now I have a CJ-5 sitting on jackstands in the rear with no rear axle in it. :D

Heh, it was a spur of the moment party when the sun came out yesterday evening. :D

Lex helped me quite a bit though. She held the halogen light so I could work after dark and then helped remove the axle from the Jeep once I had it ready to come out.

My concern is getting the axle in, I don't care how it looks. I'm just happy with the fact that I am actually getting it put in...

We are not all lucky like you to have a shop. Heck I would just like a flat piece of gravel driveway to work on Chia.

Heh, I'm forgetful, but not that bad. ;)

Gears all look good, no chips, pitting, etc. Just need to fill and go.

I wish I had a shop. I'm doing good to have a driveway to work in Colin.

Ok, axle went in tonight, u-bolts on, wheels went on so I can work safely underneath it now.

Nothing torqued yet, but it's in!
