Limit Slip 80w-90 Gear Oil Or Additive

    I see that Valvoline has gear oil for limited slip differentials. Seems like it would be much easier and cheaper then buying the tubes of limited slip additive. Any thoughts on this?

    No experience on Valvoline.
    I've been using straight Mobil One gear lube for years with excellent results.

    IIRC this topic has come up before, and the oils that claim "limited slip compatible" still need additive. You can try it, and if you get chatter, add some limited slip juice. Won't hurt anything. Compare the cost of additive plus generic 85W90 GL-5 oil. Walmart sells gear oil in gallon jugs for a good price.
