    Hello all,

You can see my jeep in my profile with description in my signature line. Looking ahead in the future I think I would like to add some lift a increase tire size but not extreme. I do not like how some jeeps sag in the rear. Anyone have good combinations that have worked for them? And pics if possible? Occasional off road use but mostly daily driver. I know there will ned to be other modifications such as gearing etc, but just want lots of time to think about it...

Lots of info on the topic in the past posts.

Generally, a 31" tire should fit without any lift, and looks good.

I have a 2.5 inch lift and 31" tires. The only thing I noticed was I had to unscrew the turn stops a little bit to keep the edge of the tires from hitting the front leaf springs. It was only a little bit, though. I have replaced the old bellcrank with Saginaw and tilt steering, too. The assembly came out of a newer Jeep. Forget which year, but the wiring seems to match that found in GM steering columns.

I believe the rear sagging indicates your rear springs are getting worn out. If you get down and inspect the leaves at the axle, clean them off and look closely you may see some cracked leaves.

Have you had any issues with the front shocks being rubbed?

No, but I the rear shock bellows do hit the frame. I see your name is Beach Bum. I just got back from a couple of days and a night in Santa Cruz. We love that place...

^Nice! It's not warm like that here on the Island, but I can surf so I'm happy!
My jeep has Pro-Comp MX6 adjustable shocks. I'm thinking that the larger diameter tube is the reason now why the front tires rub on full lock. I'll turn out the stops like you did.

Been running Rancho 2.5" springs; 1/2" lift Con-Fer shackles and 33" tires on 10" wide rims since '91 with no issues. Gotta watch the rear wheel wells on full flex as the tires WILL hit the rear 1/4... Will most likely go with an 8" wide rim when I replace the ARE's.

In my Avatar I have 35" 12.5 on 10" rims and they are just a bit too tall and just a bit too wide for the 3" Black Diamond lift springs. I went to 33" 10.5 on 8" rim which is perfect IMO. I would do same 3" lift and tire size again.

Mine has very old 2.5" or 3" taller leaf springs and 31 x 10.5 tires on factory Jeep 15x8 wheels. I get no rubbing at full lock. The scrubbing you see in the wheel well was from a set of bias 31 x 10.5 Super Swampers at full tuck.

On a side note, I filled in the white letters with a Sharpie and am having the tires flipped blackwall out today. The white letters do not jive with the look of an old CJ to me.

Man, I still love that Jeep. My '67 Tux has the 3" BDS springs, with shackle reverse, and 33X10.50's.. Perfect.

Yes, 2 weeks back tomorrow. Used to take it once a year but it has been about 5 years since the last time I took it.

Mine has 2.5" Rough Country springs and 7.00x15's. Will probably be putting on 31x10.5 on some vintage wagon wheels in the spring. Need to get the wheels blasted and powder coated.
