OK so I know a few of you run the soft half doors on the 5.
Thinking I may run half doors and a bikini top most of the time on mine.
Its mainly going to be a trail Jeep and think they may keep some of the mud off the wife and sons.
Do y'all like them or not?

I really like mine. I drive mine with bikini top and half doors all summer. When it rains a light jacket keeps me dry. Heavy rain I recommend a rain suit. I wouldn't trade mine. I say go for it.

I have a set of Kayline half doors that I run in the spring and fall. I like them. They provide some protection for your legs from the cold. I usually don't run them in the summer because they trap the heat from the drivetrain; it's noticeably cooler with them off.

    Cool thanks guys.
As of now the 5 wont even have a full top. That will change the 1st trip in the winter when the family gets cold. :)

If you are going to make your own, give some thought to a 'suicide' style half door.

Latch could be the standard hardtop latch and fasten against the body tub just below the dash somewhere.

I just got a hardtop and the doors were sort of squared off at the bottom. That shape, instead of the contour following shape would make the 'suicide' doors easier to do and much more durable.

I'll just pick up some soft ones.
Nothing fancy. Just to keep some mud and water off of us. Maybe even hold a small amount of heat in on the winter runs through the woods.
Not that we get that cold here, but wet and cold, no thanks.
