I moved this to the builds section, as different engine colors isn't restoration.;)

The engine paint that I used is called BUICK RED LATE 1966 - 1971 engine enamel from Bill Hirsch Auto.

This is the engine in the Tuxedo. I may repaint it because I really prefer the minty metallic green. It's been quite a while since this painted. I think i used a Buick blue engine enamel. It's okay but not really correct enough for me and this resto.

I now hate the color combo after shooting it. Doesn't look nearly the way I thought it would in my head.

Based on the 'half way' statement of the opening post, my engine almost qualifies. I'm working backwards on my resto-mod from the ground up, literally. This engine runs exceptionally well so it will be the last major component to receive structural or cosmetic attention in my rig. My axles are done. My tranny swap and or power brake unit is next (note the firewall rework area in the photo).

This is a neat thread to see everybodies different powerplant creations! I'm not sure what mine will finally look like, but Buick blue is a strong possibility, as in the pic below. I like its contrast to the orange body.

Wow, surprising to see some of these color combos here! I've always been a fan of repainting engines the way they originally were, so my F-head will be gloss black. All my Chebbie motors were always Chevrolet orange-red.
