This weekend I was doing the top end, piston, on my dirtbike and realized the short comings of my craftsman torque wrench I bought a decade ago. I have two craftsman units one 1/2” drive that goes north of 150 ft/lbs and a smaller unit, 3/8 “ drive, that tops out at 27 nm. Anyhow the smaller unit was at the top end of the torque spec for my dirtbike Head bolts being 27nm and as I was tightening the cylinder it just never felt good and or inspiring, keeping in mind it’s a cylinder head so you are tightening several bolts in a star pattern. So I ended up not going to 27 nm with that wrench I only got up to about 24nm before my little voice of experince told me to hold up. This has motivated me to upgrade torque wrench’s and I landed on purchasing a Norbar Torque wrench which I had never heard of till I started searching.

Norbar is a British company and their torque wrench’s appear to really well made and tough. They also come with a certificate. The model I purchased is 3/8” drive and does 10-60 nm or 10 to 45 ft/lbs. This should work well and with
care should be the last torque wrench I buy for a while in that range. If this wrench looks good I’ll probably add the next one up to my tool collection at some point in the future. I paid @150$ for the torque wrench seen below.
