    Hey All,

While at the welding supply picking up a bottle of Argon, I asked the guy about aluminum brazing and/or soldering. He sold me 3 sticks of 470 with simple instructions, scratch up the aluminum and clean it well before soldering. Came home, cleaned/scratched the parts, and heated it up with my #0 oxy/acetylene set up. Finally got warm enough for it to flow. Not too different than soldering copper pipe, just have to get it warmer. (about 700°) I had some minor "melted" spots due to my very concentrated carburizing flame, so next time I may try my #2, or may even purchase a rosebud tip, to help heat it more evenly. Came out looking clean, and with a tensile strength of 35K lbs, I don't think I'll have to worry about it.

And yes, I know, UWOP. Didn't have the camera at home.

Just thought you guys would like to know in case you had to patch some aluminum.

A product called "Alumalloy" has been getting some TV info-commercial air time here. Sounds like what you describe. Impressive demos.
