Koenig 100 Winch Mount and U-joints mockup

I mocked up the mount for my "new to me" Koenig 100 Winch.





Will commit to metal when I get the u-joints, mock up the drive shafts from the Winch to the Koenig 51 PTO and mount the center carrier bearing.

So here is the question, I assume that one of the three joints (Winch, Center Carrier, or PTO) needs to be able to move fore and aft. Is that slip joint at the winch or the PTO.

Also, What is the best shear point, again at the Winch or PTO.

 

No slip joints in the Koenig system. Solid shafts with flat key ways and joints with the set screws.

You can get some minor initial adjustment at each shaft end before you tighten down the set screw.

 

Put the slip between the pto and carrier bearing. You don't want to put any end pressure on the pto bearings/ housing.

 

I used a 1/4 inch plate, bolted to the bumper and frame. Installed plated under frame and bumper so flat washer can be used to help drive shaft angles.
