    All,
    Is the Kelsey-Hayes part # 79005, for a 15X8 black one-piece rim, valid?
What years did Willys put these on and all jeeps, or option?
There is also an NWRA X45187 on the rim also?
I thought the orig rims were 15x4.5 or 5"?
    Please advise,
    Brad

The only Jeeps I know for sure that came with them were the Renegade Is.

I have a set of 4 on my '69 that was a highway maintence vehicle of some sort it seems though.

One post is enough, we don't allow cross posting here. I deleted your other thread.

Okay, just a model of the CJ.
Okay, last question, and sorry I did see posts about these rims.
Will they fit the Dana 25 on my 61 3B?
    I believe I know where I can get a set of 5.
    Thanks Sparky,
    Brad

I'd go get em if the price is good. KH brings $200-$400 depending on condition and who wants them bad enough.

Dana 25 is no issue, but IIRC, 11" brake drums (swapped on) are an issue. Someone else will chime in.

Brad - 79005 is a Kelsey-Hayes part number. You most likely saw it on a small green sticker affixed to the wheel. Sparky is correct in that these were the same wheels on the R1 except painted white for or by Kaiser. The ones you saw were probably painted black. A guy in Ohio had a truckload of them a while ago that he was selling for about $35 ea. A few members here including myself bought some. I'm still looking for one to complete a set of two that I may or may not use on a trailer. I would appreciate knowing if one is available.

Sorry to post reply so late, but just catching up on forum since last time. Does anyone have a decent picture of this KH steel wheel? I think I've got four on my '45 MB, taco'd one, and straightened fairly well, but I've been looking for another to use the bent/straightened one as a matching spare. I originally thought my set was a 15x8 Ford rim, because the center hole is a little smaller than the other Jeep steel rims I have, but every junkyard I've been to can't find one to match. Now I'm guessing I've got these KH rims, which is cool except for the fact that I'm now on the search with everyone else! $35 doesn't sound bad if there's one near San Diego.

I bought a set of Kelsey Hayes last year from the guy in OH that had a bunch of 'em. I got all 4 for $100. They are black, but I don't remember the exact measurements - something like 15x5 or 15x6. They fit my 47 CJ2A's stock Dana 25 and Dana 41 perfectly. Not a good close-up pic of them, but this should give you an idea:

These were also used on the early "Slat Grill" MB's - 1941 to early (?) '42. //Bill

Just to be clear...I think this thread started about talking about the the KH 8" wheels...and has slipped a bit.

IIRC most if not all Jeep wheels were KH, but the 8" are rarer/harder to find and look a bit different from the normal 5-6" wheels as shown in equin's pic.

    This Ren I has them:

    All,
I was able to purchase 5 of these rims.
I had a fellow jeeper email about these not fitting 11 in brakes.
However, aren't there posts about them fitting 11 in brakes?
So, confusing for a newbie to the older jeeps.
I want to do the 11 in brake upgrade on my dana 25 front and 44 rear.
Thanks for all of the input,
    Brad

There are 11" drums with fins and without fins. Maybe they'll fit without the fins?

I am working on the 11" drum project now. It appears that there are 3 different 11" drums available. One aftermarket and a ribbed and a finned factory drum. The aftermarket 11" drums don't fit the stock narrow 15" x 5.5" rims or the 15X8's. I have a friend who cut the backs of my 5.5" rims and the aftermarket 11" drums fit but it appears more would have to be cut for the 8" rims to fit. I'm not doing that yet but will keep you posted. I just picked up some original ribbed 11" drums and they do fit the 15X8's . I'll see if the finned drums fit next time I hit my budies shop so we'll have first hand answers for everything. Have a relative in the hospital now that is keeping me from going out and getting pics of all and I don't know when the ribbed and finned 11" drums appeared and on which jeeps. Best way to avoid the problem is 16" rims but I want 15x8's to fit.

    All,
I have taken pics of the KH rims I bought.
15X8 black. Front spacing is 4.75 and back is 3.75 inches.
They are not stamped with KH but have the green sticker w/part # and size.

Nice score! Unfortunately, there is no way that they will fit a disc conversion should you ever be inclined to go that way... :(
