On fiberglass tubs with no mounting holes I have seen guys go ahead and mount the fenders onto the tub then mount the grill to the single post hole on the front crossmemeber (on at least 72 and newer cj frames) and then just pivot the tub around and line it up that way. they did it with saw horses on the side of the tub and that allowed the tub to be suspended over the frame enough to mount the fenders and grill.

This only works I guess if your era cj has the single bolt hole to attach the grill through the front cross member.

May have to center wheel opening over axle center and adjust from there?

This is one really cool build you have going. As you do your mounting, insulate each bolt from the alum body either chemically with a marine grade non oxidation paste, or physically with fiber washers and plastic sleeves. This way the galvanic action won't get that nice Aqualu body in its grip.

I plan on using daystar poly mounts and stainless steel hardware to mount the tub..
to be honest.. I’m more concerned with the ancillary items to be bolted to the tub like pedals and seat mounts...
I’m no metallurgist, but I think powder coat will be sufficient in keeping the electrons at bay..

I restored a old Land Rover so I saw what 40 years of atomic level corrosion can do...:stout:

    Need a little advice....

dropped the tub on the frame this evening for the first time..
don't think it will be as much an issue getting it placed as getting the correct height...

dropped some stock height poly spacers in key places and I'm getting hung up in some places...
the rear horizontal floor support is contacting the rear crossmember and the bolt heads on the top of the frame rail are also catching...

I'm assuming this is just a height issue and I need perhaps some taller body mounts? Anybody else run into this?

Do you have washers top and bottom of poly spacers?

    No washers...
I just threw the pucks in to get an idea... They are about .65" tall.. If somebody has a measurement of the stock ones that could help...

My original spacers were pretty shot....don't see much downside to doubling up the pucks....how many needed again?......I may have some new red poly I could give you

Ordered quite a few sets of body mounts to see what will work out best..
I happen to have a daystar YJ 1" body lift.. Did some fooling around with it and it's way too tall for what I'm after..

72-75 gets lumped in the aftermarket with everything pre 71 so I decided to go the other way and get a body mount set for a scrambler.....
amazon prime should have it to me Monday...

Might want to talk to the manufacture...........maybe they have a remedy? Otherwise you may have to notch either cross member so that it will drop , since that frame is already been dipped I would be looking at a way to notch the aluminum one. Not a big deal with aluminum just have to weld it back up.
