Would be glad to meet up with you in late summer. Keep me posted when you'd be interested in going. I'm north of Scranton by about 12 miles.

    Stretching a 72-75 top..
meticulous measuring... stretch 20" sounds easy.. but had to get this right the first time.
but that's really essentially what happened.. the rear window section was opened up a bit..
Front windshield to "B" pillar and rear tailgate section are the same.

I have an unknown brand intermediate 5 fiberglass top and doors (with hardware) I always wanted to turn into a 1/2 cab for a 6... Might be offering that up soon ;)

Great job with the hardtop! I'm very impressed with your build as a whole, you've done a great job with it.

I'm not sure I get it? Build an awesome custom top and leave it in the shop... Take topless Jeep out for a drive in the rain? :p

Wasn't raining when I left in the am.

Just something about the first dent, scrape, or downpour that validates your ride...

A little tech and a little rant....

Had another random "shut down" this week. Morning commute, .10th of a mile out of my driveway, engine hesitated... Seemed like it wasnt running on all cyl., engine dies.

I was able to diagnose for spark and fuel since I didn't even make it to the stop sign..
Fuel pump primed and took distributor wire off and confirmed spark (at coil) Engine would crank normally but not fire. 5 min or so and engine fired right up. 90 deg temps here and drove the rest of the day/week incident free, after about a month of consistently good driving. (After I swapped ignition box and distributor)

Kinda at a loss now what is failing and why?
To add insult to injury, I had a couple of ignition switch issues this week. Ignition switch would fail to trigger solenoid.. After some wire jiggling and time I eventually get it crank.

    Now for the rant...

In general, I think aftermarket parts suppliers do an amazing job in keeping availability in the market. The fact that we can get parts for models over 70 years old is kinda amazing, BUT, the inconsistency of quality is driving me batty.
Don't know what I can trust anymore.. I have found myself looking for OE and NOS electrical parts. Even the perceived quality brands no longer holds the trust it once did. I second guess myself enough, let alone second guessing the parts I'm using. And for the record, I sell autoparts!!!

I fought random electrical gremlins like that in my 66 Impala after fully restoring it. Troubleshot it for almost a year until I was laying underneath it changing the oil when I bumped the positive cable going to the starter and saw a spark. Turned out the cable end crimped on at the factory was loose. It made connection sometimes, started and ran like a champ... others it would crank slow and randomly die on me. I pulled the cable and soldered the end on, never had another issue.

So my bet it is an electrical connection somewhere... an loose/incomplete ground, etc... Best of luck!

    It's always a ground!!!
I keep telling myself that I need to go through and inspect every connection, throw a dedicated ground on the ICM. (even thought it's attached to bare aluminum) and make a factory style connector for the ignition switch.

I guess that a to do list right there
