Is this the correct Seat Frame?

Is this the correct passanger side seat frame for my 1964 Cj5?

the one i have has two legs in the rear.

 

i dont think they make repros for our jeeps.

So is their a source for these seat frames that anyone knows of...or is it time to see how much I have forgotten about welding??

 

I'm trying to find a supplier too. Have you had any luck? I purchased a seat frame from a CJ3 and found out the hard way that it doesn't fit.

 

Nope...No luck yet. I did recently get a seat that has had the back rest cut out of it. It is out of a 1963 Cj5, So I am going to simply had the backrest....this includes the upright tubing and all to what is left and see what I end up with!

 

I am in the same situation..I have a '65 CJ5. Does anyone know what the year range was for the proper seat brackets to fit our models?

I have posts out to a bunch of Jeep/Willy's salvage yards and suppliers to find driver/pass and a rear seat bracket. Once I buy a set of fronts I'm going to start building these particular frames since nobody else is reproducing them.

I know there are plans on this site for some frames, but can somebody post some pics of their original seats and frames for this model year range?

as soon as i get my camera back (i loaned it out)
i will take a seriies of pics with a measuring tape in them held to the sections, so you can get an idea of what you need.

 

I don't know the range but my 65 has a 1/3-2/3 seat that has different mounting than the 71 (late 70 build) I used to have. I kept the 71 seats as the buyer didn't want them. I put the 71 seats in the 65 and had to drill a few of the holes.

I live north of Dallas. You are welcome to come and take a look at the differences if you are ever in the area.
This is the passenger seat (removable) and the permanent pivot brackets. Don't have a shot of the driver seat.

I have the floor pivot brackets on the pass side, what keeps the seat from rocking foward during braking, etc.? Is there a locking pin? On the driver side seat frame..does it have an attatchment point on the front of the rear wheelhouse? I have a hole there..not sure if it's for a seat belt mount??

I want to mount two low-back bucket seats that I already have so I think I will need to modify the seat brackets if the frames are still in place for the seats in the photo you posted.

My Jeep had plastic boat seats fabbed up with some homemade brackets made from plate steel.

 

On my 71 there was a latch on the passenger side seat. On the 65 there is nothing. If you have seat belts it would hold the passenger in the seat.

The hole in the wheelhouse is probably a seatbelt attachment. If there is a nut underneath that is what it is.

The driver seat is bolted to the floor below the rear of the seat.

If you want buckets you might look for seat brackets from a 70-71. Don't forget the piece that the latch attaches to on the floor of the passenger side.

 

Panzer would you mind taking a picture of the bottom and back side of that pass seat? And maybe a couple of the driver's side also? I would greatly appreciate it.

I got my low back buckets for free in nice condition, and of all the things needed to be done on this Jeep to make it "family friendly" I can't believe I'm having such a hard time with the seats...I never even considered mounting seats would be a problem. Live and learn.
