    Mods, move this if necessary.
I will pay you $200 upfront for your time to measure and get accurate dimensions for this spare tire carrier. See pic below. Must be this exact carrier. I know that there are a few of you on here that have this.

I know that I am not the only one looking for this carrier and several others have voiced interest in fab'ing one up.

    Thanks in advance.

The one from the Renegade I is similar to that, but the center support is an inverted U instead of a straight tube. I think the one pictured is a Whitco.

Mark, I have seen this one, the inverted U and a jerry can one on Ren1's. This one is the PN that is listed for the Ren1's. I suspect that the factory did whatever they wanted though lol.

Are you looking to be correct for a Renegade I or II, close enough or just like the one you pictured?

Yup, I have that pic saved in my "stock" file ;) I am looking for either yours or the one in the picture. FTR the part number is from the Renegade specific parts thread and taken as they appear in the AMC Universal Parts Catalog W-1195 R2 copyright 3-18-71.

Besides the inverted U, it appears mine also lacks the 2 additional vertical supports on the one you posted.

Yes. I had one on my 1st '75 CJ-6. The plate broke across the middle and the spare went bouncing down the Santa Monica Freeway at 4AM.

I would also like the dimensions for these. I do not care if the dimensios are for the original or the Whitco version. I think I can have the center support fabricated either way (straight or inverted U). I have a home brewed swing away carrier on a Ren 1 (from P.O.) and would like to get back to a more original look. I know this design has issues with stress cracking sheetmetal, but I like the look.
I'd pony up $$ or ?? for dimensions, sketches, drawings.....

Bringing this back from the cobwebs. As I said in the original post... I know that there are a few of you on here that have this carrier. I will pay you to take measurements for me. How does $200 for the measurements sound?
