1967 cj5. Did this model come standard with a rear view mirror? If so, is that what the hole in the pic could be for? i can't see where else one could go if it did have one at one time. At first I thought the two holes above the hood strap but thought a mirror there would interfere with the strap when the windshield was down.

Heres my stock OEM 1957 mirror. One bolt. No hole where yours is.

But I did once add a mirror to a M38A1 by bolting a threaded stalk through the frame in about such a place.

That hole you have is not stock. Your Jeep should have come with a rear view mirror. By '67, it was mounted to the rectangular tube frame using the two holes just above the footman loop where your strap is. The mirror for your Jeep is not the same style as PeteL has pictured, but has a cast block looking base where it attaches to the tube frame.
