Got my 8000 Series Tank/Circulation Style Engine Heater today and was planning on installing it into jeep some time this weekend. It looks like it's going to be an easy install once I determine where my inlet and outlets are supposed to be.

    Heater Installation Instructions:
    1. Determine heater inlet connection:
    - preferred heater inlet connection is from the engine block drain hole to the heater.
    - alternate connections can be made at the lowest accessible point in the engine block on the suction side of the collant pump, from the radiator drain plug, or from the lower radiator hose

    2. Determine heater outlet connection:
    - preffered heater outlet connection is from the heater to the hose line running from the engine to the passenger compartment heater
    - alternate connections can be made in unsed pipe plug holes in the cylinder head, water pump, or water manifold

So my question for the panel is where on this V6 engine is the engine block drain hole? This is where I plan on plumbing the inlet connection for the heater. Or is the drain cock a better place? If I were to plumb the inlet there it would be on more thing I'd have to remove whenever I drain my radiator. I'd prefer the engine block drain hole but its location is a mystery to me.
My next question is which of these two plugs should I use for the outlet. I provided some pics, becasue they are so much easier than describing anything. Should I plumb into A or B on my water pump?

    Thanks for your help.

Next week : the in-cab heater
