So, Muzikp.... Were the fittings interchangeable? Or do you have to cut and swap fittings?

Cut and swap, they are definitely different size. Both are 3/8 line but one is a 5/8" and the other is 11/16" like Nate said.

After doing power brakes and power steering I'm a self proclaimed expert with the single flare tool

I don't recommend going thru the trouble of installing the lines backwards, skip that part and this is a super simple project.

As a test, plug the vacuum line to your power brake booster to rule out a bad diaphragm.

Yeh, it sounds like it's surging but that's my precision rhythmic right foot stabbing the throttle to keep it running, I think I just need to adjust the idle. I changed all my throttle linkage to work with the new gas pedal. I think the old setup never closed the throttle all the way so I had the idle screw turned way way in. I've changed soo many things since the last time I started it, I almost wish I did one thing at a time. This is a completely different vehicle now. I was so used to driving this with the old steering and lousy brakes that it was sorta hard to drive today. I've only driven 100 yards to end of street and back and not in traffic yet, but the brakes seem a bit TOO good  . That and with the power steering I feel like the steering wheel is too big now, there is zero resistance. I have time tomorrow to drive it a bunch and shake a few things out and adjust this and that. I'll update my build thread with my thoughts on all the upgrades. I need to wire the brake, tail lights and turn signals in the back before I go too far.
