I need to replace one of the headlights on the old jeep . it seems all i can find is the halogen and silverstar headlights. can the original 66 wiring handle a halogen or silverstar bulb? I figured I would ask before i fry anything like the wiring or generator?

cool , i just didnt want to throw them in without checking. it still amazes me that it is so hard to find an old standard round bulb.

Put in a relay to help with the higher power, if you think its necessary. I used replacement sockets, and upgraded the wires with a relay to run some hela lenses with some off road 100/130w H4 bulbs. No need for other Offroad lights. They work Awsome.
