Hey, just thought I'd make mention. I just got an order from Walcks 4WD and there was a flyer with reporduction Hall tail lights listed. I was unaware that these were even being made, but am pretty happy that they are. They want $30 for the right and $32 for the left. I'm going to call this week to inquire about them.

I know there have been several people looking for these, me included.

PS-wasn't sure were to put this info, i.e. here or the buying and selling section.

    Brad,
Keep us posted on what you find. I've never seen the complete assy, just the lenses. I know I would buy a set... I hope you're talking about the ones for the '71-'75 CJ's, if not then "my village just called; they're missing their idiot! "

Post a pic ASAP. That is great news. I have always been on the lookout for a spare set JUST IN CASE I was ever to damage/destroy one of mine, but haven't been successful, which makes me even more nervous. Twice I have avoided catastrophe, once on the trail and once when rear ended in town.

If someone REALLY wanted to be high speed, reproduce a HALL light that looks the same but uses red LEDs. I'd replace the taillights on my CJ7 with some of those.

Funny how a lot of people, me inlcuded, think Jeeps should never have had square headlights (ala the YJ), but no one ever questioned the switch to square taillights in, what, 1976?? Or maybe they did and I never heard?

I for one like round taillights better.

how the reason is we jeepers think our grills are the key to our jeeps. thats what tells people what part of the jeepers totam pole we fit, the rear really does not matter.

i would like to see these tail lights.

Try finding the round tail lights that go on a 71 model if you think the halls are hard to find.

Here's the pic on the flyer (if it works). Its a scan of a copy of a copy so its not too great  , but as you can see it looks as though it's a complete unit. Their web sight doesn't have them listed at all.

I've seen the later style lights on Ebay more than the Halls. Everytime I see the Halls for sale I'd have to sell a body part and the first born to afford them. Even at that, these ain't cheap. $62 a pair...

    ***It worked :D

I seem to recall the front turn and rear backup lights being a little pricey at first and then getting a little cheaper. I'm just glad to know a replacement is out there if I ever bash one. They look right to me.

From my dealings with Walcks' I'm sure they're pretty good since he won't sell something he's not satisfied with.

Phffftt!!!!! I have an F-head and 5.38s. Nobody sees my taillights long enough to notice!! One got wiped by a stump that ran out behind me; the other one, I forget what happened..... Umm, we were talking about the ones with the glass bowls inside, right?

Mine has a plastic bowl on the driver side only, the driver side has a cutout on the bottom for illuminating the license plate.

I have seen those bowls in plastic and glass. If anyone gets a set tell us what you think. I would replace my drivers side and swap in the glass bowel and my original lens and keeper.

Those don't look right to me (not for my 74 anyway). The body of the light did not curve like those in the picture do. And the lens sticks out about a 1/2 inch wider than the body of the light for the ones I'm looking for.

Other feedback? Do these look right to everyone else? Are these for pre '71 like the text in the scan?

I WANT LIGHTS FOR MINE TOO!!!! Isn't there someone out there that can help me!!! :(

Those look like the same basic shape as the ones I got from Tractor Supply $8 ea. IIRC, Halls had a lip or flange that stuck out maybe 3/8" from the 'can' Timmy might still have a pic of the remnants of Lulu's old Hall lights.

I think you're talking about two different shapes. Look at http://www.film.queensu.ca/CJ3B/Dating/Taillights.html

The Hall tailights preceded the "last round taillight" that was used from ca '68 until Jeep started using the square lights (1976?).

Somebody had a pair of housings for the "last round taillight" listed on Willystech for $5 about a week ago (maybe member "Dummy?"). Are the lenses available?

Here is a pic of my originals. I have more and bigger pics, but I don't have room for them in my attachments. Can someone tell me how to be able to post an unlimited number of pics, is that possible?? A reference to a thread explaining would be great.

I was thinking of the wrong style. Sorry. The light that I refered to is the last one in this image.

Apparently Greg's pics are correct according to the 3b page.

Greg there are many places to upload images for free out there. I operate (very slowly) a web page called oxcreek.com that hosts many images for use here. Contact me via PM or email if you would like to use some of my server space. Or you could just bug our fine webmaster and have him give you more space.

Just had to jump into this one. My '61 came with parts of the Hall passenger side lights.

Check this link for images of a NOS drivers side lamp I bought off Ebay.

I bought one of Walck's reproductions and compared it to the original. It wmatched in size and construction. Only missing the Hall markings on the metal shell and Stimsonite markings on the lens. I am extremely please with the reproduction.

If anyone has questions, just send me an e-mail off-line (kross@astcorp.com).

    Keith,
Thanks for the info on the reproductions. I'm interested to know how much you payed for the one off of Ebay.
