The side of it is about 1/4" of the loop to the largest point ot the seat, but my head is about 3-4" inch under it. Shoulder don't touch the roll bar too.

Driver position will change for a better ride quality.

    Time for a little update

I just broke an axle on my front dana 44, u-joint loose is cap. Time to upgrade.

So this morning i make my order for a custom set of RCV axle shaft.

30 spline inner and outer shaft, that will finish my internal hub conversion, upgrading the 19 spline inners to 30 spline outers. I did order the 30 spline hub gear so i can still use my free lock.

Hope to get them by the end of next week, big event at our local 4x4 club on saturday 18.

I will take some picture of the product when it come in along with installation.

read the directions over a couple times before digging in..
if I remember correctly, axle needs to be fitted with outer C off.. and some ball joint stud needs to be removed..
its a TIGHT fit getting them in..

I haven't had an issue with one yet, nor do I think I will... but I do not look forward to the day I ever have to make a trail repair..

I did read a lot about installing those axle. What i need to do i to grind down the lower ball joint to be flush with the nut. I need to take off the steering stopper, and them it suppose to get in there with the knukkle bolted to the axle. Also i have a dana 44, so the knukkle may leave more space for install if we compare to a dana 30 axle.

This is the instruction video that RCV made. Also i read a lot from different forum and the way i discribe seem to be the right way to do it.

Thank's for advice always good to hear comment from other.

These axles may be stronger, but they look like they would also be smoother running when you have the wheel turned and are applying power.

    Jeep is on spring maintenance.

Need to rebuilt the dana 20, intermediate shaft is getting worn out and some side to side loose occur so time for a little upgrade here.

So talk with adavance adapter and they have a taper bearing kit that seem to solve the problem for good. Make less heat and noise.

    add-716005_xl.jpg

Also ordered twin stick kit for the dana 20 since the oem shift linkage part are all worn out and may not fully engage the t-case. So i go with the kit.

As for the front axle i start looking to install the Rcv i order, those are nice piece of work, i'm really getting into trying those. (picture seem the rcv is shorter but it's only the angle of the picture that make look like that.

    17757751_10154203560516621_1795632662_n.jpg

Also i decided to get rid of the Heim joint on my steering component. They get some loose pretty fast resulting in poor handling over time. SO i got back to Tie rod end using one ton TRE's. The shop i'm working with has the GM reamer so i won't need to weld the sleeve over the knukkle. Along that i'm installing brand new moog ball joint. More picture to come...

You were totaly right on the installation process. The video made by Rcv with the cv joint getting in by the side of knukkle didn't work. i had to do it the way you discrible.

For now 1 side is in, still need to do the other one.

I had the same thought about the trail repair. But as they stated they not suppose to break...at least nut a much as u-joint style do. the hardest part to dissemble is to knock off the inner axle from the cv joint.

But now i figure how to install them, next side should be easier and faster to install.

I figured if I break one, something else is going to be broken and it will be lesser of the 2 problems..

I would say you will break a free lock way before breaking an axle.

So part are getting in. Did get the intermediate gear from the machinist so it's ready to receive the tapered bearing kit.

So work a little on the jeep this weekend. Custom 1 ton TRE is ready for install. I need to modify the ram assist because i got clearance issue with the drag link (before it was 1" O.D. now 1.5") As you can see the TRE are bigger than the 3/4" rod end.

So i did finish installing the rcv axle. It's not an easy task (like rejeep told me). Those won't be friendly trail repair (not suppose to happen anymore). Can't wait to give them a try.

With spring time it was time for a floor cleaning.
