From what I have seen original gas gauges (stewart warner) have the E on the right and F on the left of the face and the after market gauges have the E and F reversed.

Well I have a gauge that came from an original speedo head and is made by Stewart Warner that has the E on the left and F on the right. Has anyone run across this?

The gauge works and I am going to use it but I am just confused by the layout and I also want to make sure that the pin layout on the back of the gauge is the same a standard OEM gauge.

    Thanks.

Stock Stewart Warner gauges on my 74 have F on the left and E on the right. All the replacements I've seen have the reverse pattern. Stock gauge on my 82 Scrambler has E on the left and F on the right.

Hmmm. So I guess the layout is not set in stone like I suspected it was. Anyway I had a temp gauge and a fuel gauge in the spare parts box but the temp gauge has the H and C layout the opposite of the Fuel. Don't care though I am using it anyways it will work just look funny..
