I'm pretty sure that's an intermediate, or newer speedo you are offering.

This was for my 66' I think its an early cj because it does not have the black plastic cover over the speedo needle in the center.

It probably marketed as repop for ecj5 (and probably for later cjs as well)...and it probably works fine. It just doesn't look like an ecj5 oem speedo cluster.

I just sold one, just like the one posted above. It was in my Jeep but I replaced it with this one.

'71's should not have zeroes, that didn't start until '72.

I'm betting mine is factory. I'm only guessing a PO wasn't ambitious enough to swap out speedos, but I could be wrong. Come to think of it, I do recall some non looking wiring pieces. Hmmm?

I am pretty sure all the early cj5 speedos have the single number set-up like BeachBums...mine looks like that as well (well, not nearly as nice with flaking orange paint on the needle and discoloration etc, but you get the idea).

Your '71 came from the factory with the same speedo that Roy posted in the yellow dash. Maybe your previous owner had some ambition.

the one I have now does have zeroes also, But it was a replacement from JC Whitney way back when. My original stopped working at 80k miles, my repop has 70 k on it.

Well they did do the power steering upgrade, so you're probably right. (y)

Nice info guys, is anyone interested in buying the speedo, it doesn’t fit in my project Jeepster or I’d keep it, yet I need funds to bring her back to original so the sale is still on.
