My friend Scott that had the blue Zuki a couple of years back at Tellico is considering putting this a stock rebuilt 1.3 65hp Suzuki motor.

Does anyone think a setup like this with some machine work on the head for the injectors would work for the Fhead or Lhead engines?

It should work, if the displacement is about right and you have a source to get a timing trigger, i say go for it :) The megasquirt will probably work also, but the My-Fi is a nice setup and is way more complete out of the box. I saw that setup a few motnhs ago and liked it, so it is one of them things i can do for the samurai, but i am still am not sure which way i will go with modding the sammi :(

Sorry if I put this in the wrong place. I thought because it was Zuki kit and used VW donor parts and could be used on Fheads and Lheads it did not fit in the Flatty or ECJ5/dauntless section.

Dan, Scott is going to get everything over the next couple of months to do the conversion, he had some issues with the carb/fuel pump climbing some obstacles yesterday. I'll let you know how it works.

Oh Scott has made a few more mods since you have seen his Zuki so it would be worth the hour to hour and half drive from Franks to see it, and go check out this new ORV area about 20min away.

I think it was JP magazine that put fi on an F head, used a projection unit. It was a few years ago but iirc it worked. This might be worth a try also.

    :coffee:
Back in the '70s VW was using CIS on their inline fours (constant injection system) Mine seemed to have a spray whenever the pump was activated.

didn't have timing issues, 'cause the injectors were always spraying while the engine was running. Injectors didn't have any electrical connections on them, amount of fuel was handled by airflow through a big valve body lever hooked to a diaphram. More air flowing through the valve body would cause more fuel to flow through the fuel distributer cause the diaphram was opened up more.

this kind of system would work on the f-head (rabbit engines were 2000 cc)

if you could plumb the lines to the intake valves. The injectors sprayed onto the reverse surface of the valves. Kept them cooler, too.

    just a thought.

What did Corvette use on it's 6 cylinders back in the 50's? some kinda mechanical injector system. belt driven.

Corvette 6 cylinders never had fuel injection, they used 3 side draft carbs. The Rochester FI setup was for the v8's only, I think it started on the 283 then made it to the 327. [IMG]
