Broke the camera last night, so I'll take some camera phone pics of the trans n transfer case today. Was carrying the camera in my hoodie pocket, and walked across the garage carrying the SM420. My gut and trans did a molachi crunch on the camera and it is now junk. They need to make steel cameras.

I'll be interested in seeing more Aqualu pics and hearing about any issues you have installing the body. It's my dream solution to the tin worm affecting my Scrambler, but it's just not cost effective until I win the lottery.

I scrimped and saved and had a helluva time paying for it, but it was worth every penny. I'll get more pics of the workmanship of the body for you. They let me do layaway. Very nice people.

After on the trans and bell. I'm going to order the adapter as soon as I can save a bit more for it. May as well do the things that don't cost anything right now.

You bought it directly from Aqualu? I know Quadratec and Morris now carry them as well.

Directly from Aqualu. I dealt with a girl named Renee. She handled all the customs, trucking, and stuff, and my layaway. They now are going to have a facility in California, in order to better handle US orders, probably has to do with distributors selling them now. I imagine that if you call them though, you can still deal directly with them. I can't even say just how nice they were.

I may upgrade to pressure treated.........JK
Pics of the frame building project will start next week. I'll have the steel by the weekend, but going to wheel in the Jersey Pine Barrens this Friday, so I'll get working on it next Monday. I'm using 2x5x1/4 inch wall rectangular tube, and the ends will taper to 2x4 to retain somewhat of a stock appearance. I know its heavy, but I want absolutely no frame flex. Let the springs do the work. The CJ5 frame I did about 10 years ago was 2x4x1/4. No cracks, and it is literally wheeled every weekend. It has worn out (not broken) 3 different sets of springs. Not a little worn, literally flattened.

With their new American distribution facility, you may not have to deal with the customs part. That plus shipping cost me $850 or so. Hopefully you will get around some of that. Just for the info, I called the people who make the CJ6 tub for JC Whitney. (I can't recall the name now, but the info is on the web. It may be Fiberglass Laminations) I spoke to the man in charge, possibly the owner, and asked him if they would build the body heavier if I paid a bit more. (I read online opinions of their bodies complaining of thickness.) He replied "listen pal Ive been building these bodies forever, I know what the hell I'm doing." I said OK, thank you, you made up my mind, I'll be calling someone else. Then I went to Aqualu. Thankfully the guy at Fiberglass Laminations was rude, as I really think Aqualu treated me well, so I'm glad I was 'encouraged' to go there.

Yep, I like the transfer case mounted brake. Plus, I don't have to find eldorado calipers for the rear axle.

Good man, I like mine when it works.

It doesn't work so well after someone set it while I had it parked and I drove home while it was set, but thats another story.

Was going to just re-ring the 225. Honed the slight bit of ridge out with a rigid hone, starting with coarse, then med, then fine stones. After all that, its really slightly over acceptable spec, so I sent it to the machine shop, going to bore it, to the smallest available oversize. I hope they make .010 over, but I didn't see them, so probably .020. Frame steel to be picked up tomorrow, will have very exciting pics of me drinking coffee, and watching the band saw work by wed. evening for your viewing pleasure.
