I thought V6's came with electric wipers but I see a jeep on the Ebay/Craigslist forum with vacuum wipers- are thise actually stock & if so do they run straight off manifold vacuum or is there some sort of booster pump like the F4 has?

    Enquiring Minds want To Know-

Right off the intake manifold. My Dad's '67 Tux V6 had vacuum wipers.

My 67 CJ6 has factory electric on the top of the windshield. They are single speed and park when turned off. They have two separate motors/no linkage like my 71 had. It is not a TUX but does have a V6.

The reason I believe them to be factory is the wiring. They had the original tape job just like the wiring harness under the hood. Not just any tape job. The nice 1/2 overlap of the tape and consistency of the taping from the dash to both motors. The switch was no longer there and the PO had cut back a little of the tape and wired them straight in to the battery taking off a wire nut when he wanted them off. I have disassembled the windshield and will be using new wire and a switch when they go back on.

I could be dead wrong and this could have been a dealer kit but when I looked at how it was taped and the wire routing on the windshield it made me think it must be factory.

My '67 had factory electric as you describe. My Dad's 67 was built several months earlier than mine.

Once again, I am enlightened. I have never seen factory overhead elec wipers. Seen lots of aftermarket conversions ( or atleast that's what I thought I saw).

Cool. And the factory switch was on the dash? Same location on dash as later switch?

Those motors are exactly like mine. Here is a long distance view of the ones I have. Amazing what you don't take photos of that you wish you would've...

I know this is an old thread, but I just found it after coming across a factory photo of a '66 V6 with vacuum wiper motors. Thought I'd post the photo for posterity's sake:
