    I am rewiring my Jeep from scratch with the EZ-Wire 8 circuit kit and a Signal Stat 900 turn signal switch. The Signal Stat has two wires Yellow (Pilot) and Blue (Pilot) that I cannot match up with EZ-Wire. In the diagram for the signal stat it shows these wires going to a 2-prong flasher. My EZ-wire kit has a Turn Signal Flasher Wire and a Hazard Flasher Wire. (The EZ wire is the GM-Style 2 flasher style) This is a tough question, but does anyone have insight on how I can wire these together? All the other wires make sense, but these do not. Thanks

    Not on this site.

    I also used the 900. Although I don't have the JEEP in front of me, off the top of my head I think you need to connect the EZ turn signal wire to the yellow 900 wire, and the EZ hazard wire to the blue 900 wire.

    Think of the EZ hazard and turn signal wires as having +12VDC each, but the voltage doesn't come on until the GM flasher "senses" a load (your lights) and then pulses the current (blink, blink). Visualizing, then, that the EZ wires are your source, and the blue and yellow wires are you load, the whole switch should make sense.

    Hey, I'm in front of the jeep right now if you want wire by wire instructions.

    Yes, that would be great....I am going to wire up the column and headlight stuff tonight or tomorrow. (I know my response is late) I have the motor side wired up and working..now the rest. Any other pitfalls/confusing issues you remember coming up as you re-wired? Thanks...

    Here's your list:

    JEEP__________________________________T-Stat 9xx (7 wire)
    Driver turn signal (front, side markers)------>Green
    Driver turn signal and stop (rear)----------->Grey
    Pass turn signal (front, side markers)------->Red
    Pass turn signal and stop (rear)------------>Black
    Stop switch (from brake pedal)------------>Grey w/Black stripe
    Haz flasher (from fuse block)--------------->Blue
    Turn flasher (from fuse block)-------------->Yellow

    I could not get my headlight switch to safely turn the headlights off. It was a reproduction unit rated at 20A. For some reason I could turn them on okay, but whenever I turned them off they would arc and blow a fuse. I ordered two 40A Bosch relays and sockets from Parts Express, I think they were about $10 after shipping, and mounted them on my firewall just above the dimmer. I'm thinking about moving them inside the firewall this winter. They really made a difference; I haven't blown a single fuse since they were installed. There is an article in the tech section about installing them.

    The other thing that I did differently was to run a looped ground around the body to every light and switch that needed a chassis ground. I have had experience with old cars in the past using the body as a ground and having dim brake lights, intermittent gremlins, etc., and so I just tried to fix the problem before it started by providing them a solid ground that should last for years; they've still got the chassis ground, but they've got an additional wire straight from the battery, too. I loomed the ground up with everything else, so you don't even see it's there.
