My 66 CJ5 has a orange/red engine. Dauntless 225. Dry filiment air filter. Everything looks original. Has the sticker and everything. What did my motor come from??? Every jeep Dauntless I see is green!!

There have been some entries regarding the original color for the Dauntless V6.
I wanted to share my findings and the results are fairly accurate

Is that a high temp engine paint?

Not high temp, just regular auto paint. I did apply Rustoleum hi temp clear over but that probably won’t do much for the protection of the color, if it needs it...
I feel fairly certain it will be OK from past experiences and reading blogs. If not, I’ll start over

Not a dauntless but I used standard high temp Chevy orange you find in the stores. Holding up well. upload_2019-11-28_10-34-19.jpeg
