On Sunday I started a “Quick one day” project, on my Jeep.
When I want to use the snow plow, I have to remove my hydraulic winch. This is the only pic I could find of the snow plow with the winch removed.

So I thought I would mount the plow over top of the winch. I made a couple of extender brackets
(I hate it when people post fuzzy pictures. But I took these when I was at my Dad’s, and didn’t notice they were bad until I got home.)

And bolted everything together.......... it sound so simple, but it took 3 days.

When it was done, it works great and I was surprised it didn’t look too bad.

That was talked about on our local forum, guy had a plow for sale but people didn't want to remove their winch. Looks like the same plow gear, that one was Myers. Nice job.

couldnt you just use use the winch to lift the plow? Im debating weather to put my plow ram back on. Im thinking an electric winch would make it a no brainer. I dont know how the hydraulic winches work maby it wouldnt

My first blade for this Jeep came from my Dad, It weighed a ton, it was designed for use on a fork lift. It had manual tilt, meaning you had to pull a pin to swivel the blade. I fabbed a mount to hook on the front bumper, it had no frame support, and I used the electric (Desert Dynamics) winch I had at the time to lift it. It worked great as long as you didn't try to push too much, without the frame support it tended to bend my mount. When I knew I was only going to be plowing, I would remove the 150' of cable and put on a 25' piece. Using the 150' on the drum, would get all tangled. but the winch worked nice for the beast of a blade.
