electrical problems

    just got done installing the electric fan and now I have no power @ the iginition switch. I have 12.9 volts @ the battery, winch solinoid and battery. the jeep shut off on it's own while I was adjusting the temp switch. any thoughts/ideas??????

    checked fuses. thinking fuseable link or ign switch. (or the hacked rats nest wiring under dash [again])

    found the problem (I think) seems that the hacked wire job has the hot wire from the alt going to the headlight switch then the ign switch. seems the headlight switch is bad and since i have no lights (yet), am going to bypass headlight switch.

    Whoa!!!

    wire from battery to light switch is normal. It isn't the only way to connect it, but it is not 'wrong' or indicate that it is hacked up.

    On the back of the light switch is a circuit breaker in case there is a dead short in the lights.

    Your ign wire may run through the breaker or just use the breaker terminal as a junction point.

    found the short. hot lead from fan switch touched the tub. might get the rebuilt transfer case installed by attica.
