I am replacing my single master cylinder with a dual and will need to re do my brake line connections. My question is which outlet on the master goes to the front brakes ? The outlet closest to the pedal ? or does it matter?

    Disregard the "disc" text.

There is another component you need. I'm looking for the thread.

Thanks for the link, at this point, I plan on using the existing drums both front and back.

Did you ever figure out what it does? I see it in the FSM, pg323, but no explanation of function. I'm puzzled?

I've been reading a bunch of previous threads on dual master cylinder conversions and gleaning more understanding.

In Moses Ludel's JEEP CJ rebuilder's manual, he talks about Proportioning and Metering (pg 446) and gives an explanation of each. He suggests a combination valve in upgraded systems, particularly with 11" drums and discs. His opinion regarding 9" and 10" is as follows ..."If you stay with the vintage 9-or10-inch drum brake system, there is not enough braking effort to present a problem!"

I'm leaning toward plumbing the primary to the front and secondary to the back and see how it works when I get it back on the road. I would still welcome feedback/advice regarding that. That may be for another thread :)
