Drop in oil pressure

    I have an f-head that has been completely rebuilt about two years ago(maybe 1000 miles on it) I also have a manual operation gauge, My oil pressure is around 40psi at idle also at about half throttle and up, but when I slightly accelerate or increase rpm's my oil pressure tends to drop about 5 to 7 psi lower than idle. I still have sufficient pressure but why the drop!

    So it is dropping to 30-35PSI while driving? Sounds like a pressure release valve opening.

    No , not while driving only at a stand still but idle and 3/4 throttle are just fine only in a slighly increased rpm there is a drop
